We decided to own this micro table for few reasons, we are changing our camping style to mini version or Japanese style camping. Another factor is that this table packs small and it is not heavy at all, it weighs 750 grams. We carried the table on our bike and went BBQ picnic or can use it on the next beach outing.
Having a small table has it's benefit, we do not have to place cookwares on the ground and dirty it. Sometimes the ground can be uneven and the stove cannot be properly placed.
For BBQ, the table served as a tray for placing raw meat and other stuff and not on the ground.
PACKING & UNPACKING
Setting up the table is rather easy, just unfold it and it will open up the table surface.
The only tricky part was inserting the rods into the holes of the aluminium plating, needed some alignment work. The table legs are folded and there is option for 2 height settings.
Packing was much easier, just pull the 2 rods out and fold the table away. There is a holder for storing the 2 rods.
THOUGHTS
We seen this micro table couple years ago, felt it was too small and too low. After watching YouTube on Japanese campers using it, we knew this table can be useful.
GSI Outdoor has similar version and has another bigger version. For the price we paid under USD30, it was a good investment.
This table is good for solo camping but enough space for 2 person. We are thinking of getting another table and join the 2 tables together to create more space when there are more of us camping.
With our current setup, one Fire Maple Micro Folding Table and two Alite Monarch Chairs or two Therm-a-Rest Trekker Chairs, total weight can be below 1.8kg. It is half the weight of one Logos Chair which we have been using it for a while.
