Vargo Titanium Hexagon Wood Stove

Ordered this stove because we had seen Japanese campers have been using this stove with Trangia Alcohol Stove very effectively so decided we should try it out. We paid USD59.95 and it came from USA which took around 5 days to arrived.

FIRST IMPRESSION
For a Titanium stove, the weight felt a little heavy. It came with a Velcro pouch which was easy to remove the stove. Setting up the stove was not difficult as the stove walls were all folded just like a folding windscreen.

After setting up the stove did look big and it has a bigger fire place compare to The Pocket Stove. The Vargo stove did not felt stable free standing, a little weight was pressed down on the stove and we notice it started to wiggle but not to an extend it will collapse, in another word it is a bit flimsy. The hinged flame door felt a bit tight maybe it is still new.

Overall we felt it might make a good wood burning stove and we can have a small camp fire with it.  To use the Vargo Stove with Alcohol Stove, we noticed using the Trangia Alcohol Stove was too far from the pot base but when using our CiT MX Alcohol Stove, the distance was shorter. We did not do a boil test on both stove but you be the judge from the photos. Using the stove with a 20cm pot size is not a problem.

Field test on the next outdoor trip.
